Former Seychelles president Wavel Ramkalawan attended the RENEWPAC Summit 2026 in Rabat, Morocco, held from 7 to 9 April.

The summit brought together leaders and stakeholders from Europe, Africa and partner regions. It focused on the theme “Resilience and Renewal – Building Liberal Partnerships in a Multipolar World”.

Organisers said the programme focuses on strengthening cooperation between the European Union and Africa through innovation, policy dialogue and strategic partnerships. Discussions addressed green energy transition, sustainable resource management and economic resilience.

“The programme focuses on strengthening EU–Africa cooperation through innovation, policy dialogue, and strategic partnerships,” organisers said.

In addition, participants included political leaders, parliamentarians, party representatives, youth leaders and experts. They met to exchange ideas and build cooperation in a changing global context.

“The Summit offers a space for open political dialogue, practical cooperation, and shared reflection,” organisers said.

Meanwhile, the programme featured idea-driven sessions, expert-led discussions and high-level engagements such as the Mayors Summit. These activities aimed to support practical solutions and encourage collaboration across regions.

The event formed part of the Renew Europe political family. It was co-organised with Morocco’s Party of Authenticity and Modernity and held under the RENEWPAC framework.

Organisers said the Rabat edition builds on previous summits. They added that it provides a platform for political cooperation, where participants exchange ideas and develop partnerships across regions and generations.
