Seychelles First Lady Visits Abu Dhabi Autism Centre During UAE Official Trip

The First Lady of Seychelles, Mrs Véronique Herminie, has visited the Abu Dhabi Autism Centre and the Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination during an official visit to the United Arab Emirates.

She was accompanied by Mrs Pamela Payet, spouse of Seychelles’ Ambassador to the UAE, and Ms Mikella Oshia from State House.

The delegation was received by the General Director, Mr Abdulla Alhumaidan, and senior management, who presented the centres’ facilities and programmes.

Mrs Herminie took part in the “Autism Experience” at the Innovation Hub, an activity designed to improve understanding of sensory perceptions experienced by children with autism.

Commenting on the visit, Mrs Herminie said it “provided valuable insight into best practices for promoting a more inclusive approach for persons with disabilities, while empowering them through education, therapy, employment, and social integration”.

The Abu Dhabi Autism Centre expressed its willingness to support initiatives in Seychelles, including through training programmes for parents and caregivers.
