NEWS UPDATE: The Seychelles Prison Service has confirmed that Rodney Freminot, the inmate who escaped from Montagne Posée Prison on Monday, November 3rd, has been apprehended and is once again in custody.


Authorities have launched a manhunt for Rodney Freminot, an inmate who broke free from the Montagne Posée Prison on Monday, November 3rd. Officials are warning the public that Freminot is considered violent and highly dangerous.
In an official statement, law enforcement stressed the gravity of the situation, advising people not to engage with Freminot or assist him in any manner. Offering help or shelter to the escaped convict could result in serious legal consequences.
“Any attempt to assist or harbor this individual will result in serios criminal charges.”
The search also continues for another escaped prisoner, Jefferson Marie. The deadline for Marie to voluntarily surrender has passed. Both men are believed to be evading capture, and a coordinated operation by the Seychelles Police Force and The Seychelles Prison services is in progress to track them down. Officials are urging anyone with information on the whereabouts of Freminot or Marie to contact authorities immediately.
