Kevin Perine appointed General Manager of VMA Seychelles at Eden Island

Kevin Perine has been appointed as the new General Manager of the Village Management Association (VMA) Seychelles at Eden Island.

VMA is the governing body of the Eden Island residential marina development on Mahé. It oversees community services, facilities, security, financial levies and resident welfare. The association operates as a homeowners’ body for the development.

Mr Perine previously served as Principal Secretary at the Ministry of Local Government and Community Development.

Speaking at a recent staff function, Mr Perine addressed employees and board members for the first time in his new role. He said he had been in the position for four weeks and described the period as demanding.

“I’ve only been at VMA for four weeks now, but what a month it has been,” he said. “I’ve been meeting homeowners, learning the culture, and getting to know you all.”

He also referred to the workload facing the organisation. “There is a mountain of work,” he told staff, adding that the pace had been intense since his arrival.

Mr Perine thanked the management team and the board of directors for their support. He also paid tribute to the association’s chairperson, Daniel Colyn, who was present at the event. “We truly appreciate you taking the time to spend these few hours with the VMA team,” he said.

The event also recognised staff members for their service and performance. Mr Perine said the initiative aimed to acknowledge consistency, reliability and positive attitudes among employees.

“This is a small way of saying we see you, we appreciate you, and you inspire all of us,” he said, congratulating all nominees.

However, Mr Perine made clear that expectations would remain high under his leadership. He described himself as results-oriented and stressed the importance of accountability and hard work.

“Hard work, accountability, and dedication matter here,” he said. “I notice when something is done incorrectly, just as I will be watching when it is done right.”

Looking ahead, he encouraged staff to view challenges as opportunities rather than setbacks. He also called for teamwork and openness to change.

“When we work together as a team, there is no limit to what we can achieve,” he said.

Mr Perine concluded by thanking staff for their commitment and wishing them a successful year ahead.
