Jean-Pierre Morin of Rosebelle (Pty) Ltd has issued a statement rejecting recent remarks made by President Patrick Herminie concerning him and his company.

In the statement dated 8 May, Mr Morin said allegations and insinuations concerning arrangements involving chillers, flowers, yoghurt and related matters were “entirely false, misleading, and devoid of factual basis”.

He added that neither he nor Rosebelle (Pty) Ltd had engaged in “any form of corrupt activity”.

Mr Morin said the company had conducted its business with transparency, professionalism and compliance with established procedures. He stated that the company documented transactions involving State House or government entities and supported them with invoices and official processes.

The statement also referred to the company’s supply of eggs during the national shortage between December 2024 and December 2025.

Mr Morin further stated that an individual from State House had once approached the company for a quotation on office space at the Rosebelle Complex for former President Wavel Ramkalawan.

He said the quotation was provided during normal business operations. However, no agreement was reached, and the matter did not proceed.

“As managers of a commercial complex, we regard it as standard practice for prospective tenants to decline such offers,” the statement said.

Mr Morin also said “unsubstantiated public statements” were harming the reputations of individuals and businesses. These individuals and businesses had contributed positively to Seychelles.

The statement further referred to support provided by Rosebelle (Pty) Ltd during the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to Mr Morin, the company imported and donated a deep freezer with a freezing capacity of minus 72 degrees Celsius for storing Covid-19 vaccines. In addition, the company donated an oxygen-producing machine for the Government of Seychelles when oxygen supplies were critically scarce.

He said the contributions were made “discreetly and solely for the public’s benefit”.

The statement added that the company had also supported Seychellois during hardships. This included food donations and home repairs following the CCCL explosion.

Mr Morin said Rosebelle (Pty) Ltd had built its reputation through “hard work, entrepreneurship, and community service”.

He added that portraying him or the company as corrupt was “unjust, irresponsible, and detrimental” to employees and their families. Furthermore, it was also detrimental to others linked to the business.

The statement also referred to former President Wavel Ramkalawan as a longstanding family friend. However, Mr Morin said personal friendships did not imply impropriety. These friendships had never affected their “diligent and patriotic service” to Seychelles.

Mr Morin concluded by stating that Rosebelle (Pty) Ltd remained committed to “transparency, professionalism, and service to our people”.
