Helena Sims appointed SeyCCAT CEO

SeyCCAT has announced the appointment of Helena Sims SeyCCAT CEO.

The organisation said Ms Sims brings more than 20 years of national, regional and global experience in marine conservation, ocean governance and sustainable finance.

It said she played a key role in the development and adoption of the Seychelles Marine Spatial Plan to achieve the 30% marine protection goal. It also said she was directly involved in the finalisation of the debt-for-adaptation swap and the operationalisation of SeyCCAT.

SeyCCAT said:

“Helena brings over 20 years of national, regional and global experience in marine conservation, ocean governance, and sustainable finance.”

The organisation said Ms Sims has a background in governance, institutional development and conservation finance. It said she has worked with government, civil society and international partners to align environmental priorities with sustainable funding mechanisms.

SeyCCAT said:

“As CEO, Helena will focus on strengthening SeyCCAT’s strategic impact, enhancing transparent and effective grant-making, and ensuring the Trust continues to support Seychelles’ biodiversity, climate resilience and sustainable development goals.”

The organisation invited the public to welcome Ms Sims to her new role as SeyCCAT CEO.
