A group of tourists from different parts of the world spent part of New Year’s Eve on Moyenne Island.

The small island lies within the Ste. Anne Marine National Park and operates as a protected nature reserve. Once privately owned, it later became a sanctuary focused on conservation and environmental education. The island is home to giant Aldabra tortoises, native wildlife, and tropical vegetation. Today, it attracts visitors interested in nature and Seychelles’ natural heritage.

As part of the tourists’ itinerary for the day, the group took part in several activities. These included snorkelling in the marine park and hiking along the island’s nature trails. They also shared a traditional island-style buffet prepared by the Jolly Rogers restaurant on Moyenne Island.

The itinerary also included a cultural experience. Tourists watched a local moutya performance by the Moyenne Boys. During the performance, tourists danced barefoot in the sand and spent the afternoon taking part in the celebrations.

Overall, the visit marked a memorable experience for the holidaymakers, who will be welcoming the New Year while visiting Seychelles.
