
Eleven officers of the Seychelles Defence Forces (SDF) were promoted during a ceremony held at State House on Monday, 29 December.
The promotions were conferred by Patrick Herminie, who serves as Commander-in-Chief of the SDF.
Three Majors were promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. They are Irene Pompee, Jude Raoul and Hans Radegonde. Mr Radegonde is currently on an overseas course.
Captain Marcus Leste, who is also on an overseas course, was promoted to the rank of Major.
Meanwhile, five Lieutenants were promoted to the rank of Captain. They are Ron Jessie, Adrian Barbe, Samuel Cecile, Kurl Elizabeth and Julian Morel.
In addition, two Second Lieutenants, Ryan Benstrong and Andy Mathieu, were promoted to the rank of Lieutenant.
The ceremony also included the commissioning of two new officers. Hamza Charlot and Rene Nicette were commissioned to the rank of Lieutenant after completing a six-month training programme at the Indian Naval Academy in Ezhimala.
President Herminie congratulated all the officers. He wished them continued success in their respective fields of service.
