Travellers from Seychelles will now receive 15 days of visa-free entry to Thailand under new immigration measures.
The Cabinet of the Royal Thai Government approved the changes on Tuesday, 19 May 2026.
The review was led by the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Tourism and Sports.
Under the new system, Seychelles joins Maldives and Mauritius in a new 15-day visa-free category.
Authorities said the move aims to tighten security and address visa abuse.
Tourism and Sports Minister Surasak Phancharoenworakul said the changes affect travellers from 93 countries and territories.
However, Thai authorities expect limited impact on tourism.
Thailand government data shows most foreign visitors stay in Thailand for around nine days.
Thailand will maintain a 30-day visa-free programme for nationals from 54 countries and territories.
Previously, the programme covered 57 countries and territories.
The exemption applies only to tourism travel.
Visitors may extend their stay once for another 30 days.
Authorities also said travellers may use the visa-free scheme only twice each calendar year.
Thailand also plans to reduce its Visa on Arrival programme.
The number of eligible countries will fall from 31 to four.
According to Thai authorities, the remaining countries are Belarus, Serbia, India and Azerbaijan.
