According to the latest published figures, consumer prices in Seychelles fell slightly in December 2025.

Data released by the National Bureau of Statistics shows that annual inflation for all items stood at -0.22% in December. This compares with 0.02% in November.

The statistics office said the decline reflected lower prices across key categories.

Fish prices recorded the sharpest annual fall, declining by 6.72%. Prices for other food dropped by 0.95%, while non-food items edged down by 0.01%.

Core inflation, which excludes fresh fish and energy items, stood at 0.43% in December. This was down from 0.64% a month earlier.

On a month-on-month basis, prices rose slightly. The all-items index increased by 0.09% in December, compared with 0.24% in November.

The bureau said price increases were recorded in some food and non-food categories. These were offset by declines, particularly in fish prices.

Over the 12 months to December 2025, average inflation stood at 0.30%, according to the National Bureau of Statistics.

The next Consumer Price Index bulletin, covering January 2026, will be released on 9 February 2026.
