The Minister for Health, Marvin Fanny, has held three separate meetings with ambassadors accredited to Seychelles as part of efforts to strengthen international cooperation in the health sector.
The meetings took place on Tuesday, 13th, with the ambassadors of Japan, China and Cuba.
Mr Fanny met individually with Japan’s Ambassador, Sakuto Makoto, China’s Ambassador, Lin Nan, and Cuba’s Ambassador, Iraide de la Caridad Guerrero Zuniga.
During the discussions, the minister stressed the importance of expanding training and capacity-building opportunities for Seychellois healthcare workers.
He said improving professional skills and clinical expertise would strengthen service delivery, improve patient outcomes and support the resilience of the national health system.
Mr Fanny also expressed appreciation for the continued support from partner countries. He outlined areas where cooperation could be strengthened further.
These include advanced clinical training and scholarships for nurses, doctors and allied health professionals. He also highlighted exchange programmes, exposure visits, joint health research initiatives and technical assistance in specialised medical fields.
In response, the ambassadors reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation with Seychelles in the health sector. They also recognised the importance of human resource development in achieving sustainable health goals.
The meetings form part of Seychelles’ wider engagement with international partners to support skills development, knowledge exchange and cooperation in healthcare.
