After eighteen months of construction, the new Bel Ombre District Administration building is complete and ready to accommodate its tenants, thereby improving government service delivery to the community.
The new building was officially inaugurated on Wednesday, October 22nd, 2025, by outgoing President Wavel Ramkalawan and the Minister for Local Government and Community Affairs, Rose-Marie Hoareau.
The former and newly elected member of The National Assembly for Bel Ombre, Sandy Arrisol and Denise Clarisse, were among those invited to celebrate this milestone for the district. It is important to mention that the elected MNA will also have an office in the new building.
In his brief address at the inauguration ceremony, outgoing President Wavel Ramkalawan stated that the new facility would enhance government services for the community and urged the incoming administration to ensure that these services are delivered impartially, without favour or discrimination.
Construction of the new two-story Bel Ombre District Administration building began in April 2024. Designed by the Seychelles Infrastructure Agency, the project was awarded to Turnkey Solutions and financed by the Government of Seychelles at a cost of 4.7 million rupees.
