Air Seychelles has intensified its recovery efforts following regional airspace closures. The national airline said it is assisting passengers affected by disruption caused by airspace closures in the Middle East.
The airline said it is operating a series of special flights to Europe. These include five flights to Paris and two to Prague. Air Seychelles said the additional services will allow more than 1,400 passengers to travel from Seychelles to Europe. The flights will help them continue their journeys.
Air Seychelles also introduced a special fare of US$375 on inbound flights from Paris to Seychelles to assist travellers whose original itineraries were disrupted.
At the same time, the airline confirmed that its daily flights to Abu Dhabi and twice-weekly flights to Tel Aviv remain temporarily suspended due to the airspace closures. The airline said it remains in contact with affected passengers and will provide updates as more information becomes available.
Chief Executive Officer Sandy Benoiton said the airline has a responsibility to respond when connectivity is disrupted.
“As the national carrier, we recognise our duty to act decisively and responsibly when our connectivity is challenged,” he said.
“The operation of these special flights reflects our commitment to supporting our passengers and protecting Seychelles’ air links.”
Air Seychelles also thanked the Ministry of Transport, Ports and Civil Aviation, the Seychelles Airport Authorities, and other stakeholders for their collaboration during the response to the disruption.
