Local music superstar Taniah has described 2025 as a year marked by artistic growth, public recognition and youth development.
Speaking to Victoria Scope, Taniah said much of the year was dedicated to promoting her second studio album, released seven years after her debut. She worked closely with experienced professionals on the project.
“It was long overdue,” she said. “But the public response showed me that the music connected.”
Taniah explained that the album explored multiple genres and themes, allowing it to reach a broad audience. She said it performed well on online streaming platforms and brought a strong sense of professional fulfilment.
One of the standout moments of the year, she said, was her first outdoor concert.
“That is something I will always cherish,” Taniah said.

Throughout 2025, she also received several music-related awards. According to Taniah, the recognition reflects years of consistent work in the industry.
“The awards are a testament to the hard work,” she said.
While the year presented few major obstacles, Taniah acknowledged receiving some criticism. She said she views feedback as part of personal and professional growth.
“I always strive to better myself,” she said.
Alongside her music career, Taniah highlighted the progress of Taniah Entertainment, a project she launched two years ago to support and professionalise the local music industry. The initiative focuses on developing young talent.
“Many talents have grown through this programme,” she said. “I am happy to have contributed to their development.”
The project now supports around 50 young people, a milestone Taniah said makes her proud.
However, the end of the year was marked by personal loss, as she and her family mourned the death of a close relative. She described the period as difficult and said she plans to take time to rest.
Looking ahead to 2026, Taniah said her ambitions include gaining more international exposure and continuing to grow musically. She also aims to strengthen Taniah Entertainment to foster greater unity within the industry.
Beyond music, she said she hopes to see a more united and compassionate Seychelles and wants to play a positive role in that effort.
Taniah also thanked her supporters for their continued loyalty.
“I hope that the support I receive also extends to the young people in the Taniah Entertainment programme,” she said.
She urged fans and the public to support local artists by purchasing original content and streaming music legally.
“We depend on that revenue for a living,” she said.
