Two dancers from Seychelles, who are members of the local dance group Emergency Crew, are taking part in the ORITA dance training Mauritius programme.

The programme is taking place from 30 March to 11 April 2026 in Flic en Flac, Mauritius.

The participants are Jheelal Michel Heraldin Choisy and Rahim Faisel Desnousse.

The programme includes participants from Seychelles, Madagascar, Mozambique, Comoros and Mauritius. It aims to bring together 30 dance artists from the Indian Ocean region for the training.

Invitation letters confirm their participation in the second session of the ORITA professional contemporary dance training.

The letters state that participants will attend a two-week dance training course led by professional performers, choreographers and educators from the Indian Ocean region.

They also state: “These activities are part of a cultural and educational programme.”

SR Dance confirmed its support for the programme and for the participation of individuals enrolled in the training.

The organisation stated that it “provides its support for the arrival in Mauritius of participants enrolled in the second session of the professional contemporary dance training ORITA”.

The programme includes participants from several Indian Ocean territories, including Seychelles.

The ORITA training is certified by the Mauritius Qualifications Authority, which provides a professional framework and international recognition.

The programme is implemented in partnership with Lalanbik, a choreographic development centre in the Indian Ocean region. It is supported by the Nelson Mandela Centre for African Culture Trust Fund. It forms part of a programme led by the Indian Ocean Commission, with support from the Agence française de développement.

The invitation letters confirm that travel, accommodation and meals are provided for participants during the programme period.
