Two senior officers of the Seychelles Police Force have been awarded France’s bronze medal in recognition of their contribution to security cooperation between Seychelles and France.
Police Commissioner Ted Barbe and Superintendent Peter Dacambra received the honours from Brigadier General Frédéric Labrunye, Commander of the Gendarmerie of Réunion. The ceremony was held on Tuesday, 16 December 2025, at the conference room of the Ministry of Homeland Security and Civil Affairs in Victoria.
Those in attendance included France’s Ambassador to Seychelles, Anne Tallineau, the Minister for Homeland Security and Civil Affairs, James Conrad Jean Camille, the Prefect of Réunion, Patrice Latron, senior police officials and other high-ranking guests.
According to the police department, the awards recognise the efforts of the two officers and reflect the strength of cooperation between Seychelles and France. That partnership includes joint initiatives in public order management, quick response teams, training in document fraud detection and other security-related programmes.
The authorities said the collaboration aims to strengthen operational capacity while building trust between the two countries’ security institutions.
