France and Seychelles Pledge to Strengthen Health Cooperation

Seychelles’ Minister for Health, Dr. Marvin Fanny, has received a courtesy visit from France’s new Resident Ambassador to Seychelles, Anne Tallineau. During the meeting, Ambassador Tallineau reaffirmed France’s continued commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation with Seychelles, particularly in the health sector.

Discussions focused on existing agreements and frameworks of collaboration between the two countries. Special attention was given to several health-related agreements that are currently inactive.

Both sides underlined the importance of reviewing, revitalising and reactivating these mechanisms so that Seychelles can fully benefit from the expertise and support available through its long-standing partnership with France.

Minister Fanny welcomed the Ambassador’s initiative and reaffirmed the Ministry of Health’s commitment to working closely with the French Embassy to advance shared priorities in health system development, capacity building and technical cooperation.

The meeting was also attended by Dr Sanjeev Pugazhendi, Principal Secretary Policy, Planning, Strategy and Accountability at the Ministry of Health, and Betty-May Bibi, Director for Cooperation and International Partnerships.
