The Ambassador of the United States to the Republic of Seychelles, Henry Jardine, has paid a virtual farewell call on the Minister for Foreign Affairs and the Diaspora, Barry Faure.
The meeting took place on Thursday, 8 January 2026.
The farewell comes as part of a wider move by Washington to recall several ambassadors, according to information released in a previous government statement. Mr Jardine has served as a non-resident ambassador to Seychelles for three years.
During the call, Ambassador Jardine thanked the minister and staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for their cooperation during his tenure. He said the working relationship had remained constructive throughout.
He added that bilateral ties between the United States of America and Seychelles would continue. Existing programmes, he said, would remain in place.
Ambassador Jardine highlighted several areas of cooperation. These include collaboration between the Central Bank of Seychelles and the United States Department of the Treasury to combat financial crime.
He also referred to law enforcement training initiatives and capacity-building in the military sector. In addition, he noted the United States’ annual participation in Seychelles’ National Day celebrations.
Minister Faure thanked Ambassador Jardine for his commitment to the relationship between Seychelles and the United States. He acknowledged the ambassador’s engagement during his posting and wished him well in his future assignments.
