The annual tax return lodgement period for has officially begun, with the Seychelles Revenue Commission intensifying its tax enforcement campaign.
The campaign started in December and will run until the deadline for the submission and declaration of yearly tax returns. Taxpayers have until 31 March 2026 to lodge their returns and settle their 2025 tax obligations.
As in previous years, the Commission says it will increase its presence to assist taxpayers with submissions. The aim is to support compliance and ensure obligations are met on time.
As part of the campaign, businesses with outstanding debts are being encouraged to come forward. The Commission is urging them to engage early to discuss settlement options.
Senior Enforcement Officer Curtis Jean said the SRC is open to dialogue with businesses facing difficulties. He said the Commission can facilitate payment arrangements, including instalment plans.
“We are appealing to businesses to come and have a conversation with us,” Mr Jean said. “This allows us to agree on realistic payment terms.”
However, he warned that late payments will attract penalties in line with existing regulations.
On Mahé, tax returns can be lodged at SRC offices at Maison Colette in Victoria, the Leve Debrouye Building in Providence, and the new office in Anse Royale. The Commission is encouraging taxpayers to make greater use of the Anse Royale office.
According to the SRC, this will ease pressure on its main headquarters in Victoria with parking challenges and long queues.
On Praslin, lodgements can be made at two locations. These are the SRC office at the JW Enterprise Building on Île Eve and the office at the Pension Fund Building.
On La Digue, taxpayers can lodge their returns at the SRC office located at the Pension Fund Building.
The Commission also acknowledged the construction of its new building along Bois de Rose Avenue. The facility is expected to accommodate more taxpayers than the current headquarters, which has limited space.
In addition, the SRC says it is conducting trials of a new digital platform for tax lodgement. At this stage, access to the system is limited to selected businesses only.
