Seychelles President announces senior government appointments

Seychelles President Patrick Herminie has announced a series of high-level appointments across the public sector, effective from 1 December 2025.

A number of changes have been made within the Office of the President. Jennifer Vel becomes Chief of Staff for Presidential Affairs and Economic Advisor, while Nirmal Shah has been appointed Special Advisor.

New principal secretaries include Doreen Zelia for Administration, Terry Jones for Government Implementation and Delivery, and Melissa Simeon for Public Affairs. Shelda Commettant becomes Chief Press Secretary, with Aubrey Payet named Chief of Presidential Protocol Affairs and Anna Gutierez as Chief Public Relations and Communications Advisor.

Margaret Moumou has been appointed Secretary of State for Cabinet Affairs and the Civil Service, with Shella Mohideen becoming Chief Secretary and Florry Payet named Deputy Cabinet Secretary.

In the defence sector, Michael Rosette has been appointed Chief of Defence Force.
Vinsent Perera becomes Attorney General and Wendy Zialor is the new Registrar General.

Several appointments were also made in the Office of the Vice President, including Alvin Laurence as Secretary of State for Poverty Alleviation and Xavier Estico as Secretary of State for Science, Technology and Innovation. Additional principal secretaries were assigned for information, ICT and digital transformation, risk and disaster management, and lands, housing and infrastructure.

Further senior roles were filled across ministries responsible for finance, fisheries, foreign affairs, homeland security, transport, health, youth, industry, local government, environment, education, employment, social affairs, and tourism.

According to the announcement, appointments of new chief executive officers for various government entities will be made in December.
