Ms Fatime Kante has been reassigned as Principal Secretary for the Department of Public Administration in the latest Seychelles public service appointments. The Office of the President confirmed the move on Wednesday 1 April 2026.

She previously served as Principal Secretary for Youth and Sports.

Her reassignment comes four months after she was appointed to the youth and sports portfolio in December.

Mr Marc Arissol

Meanwhile, Mr Marc Arissol has been appointed Principal Secretary for Youth and Sports. He replaces Ms Kante. Prior to his new appointment, Mr Arissol was the Chief Executive Officer of the National Sports Council.

The office of the President added that a new Chief Executive Officer for the National Sports Council will be announced.

The Office of the President also announced further changes as part of broader senior appointments and an institutional realignment. It said the move aims to strengthen governance and public administration.

Ms. Margaret Moumou

Following the creation of the position of Secretary of State for Cabinet Affairs and Civil Service, held by Ms Margaret Moumou, authorities have reclassified the post of Chief Secretary. The role is now Principal Secretary for the Department of Public Administration.

The Office of the President said the restructuring forms part of “ongoing efforts to streamline leadership structures and enhance coordination across the civil service.”

As part of the changes, Ms Shella Mohideen will move from her role as Chief Secretary to take up a new position as Dean at the University of Seychelles.

The Office said she “will bring her extensive experience in tertiary education and training to support the ongoing review and strengthening of the University.”

All appointments take effect from 1 April 2026.

The President acknowledged the officers’ service. The Office of the President said he “expresses his sincere appreciation and gratitude to all Officers for their dedicated service in their previous roles and extends his best wishes for success in their new responsibilities.”
