The capital city burst into colour and sound on Saturday, October 25, as the streets came alive with the Creole Carnival Parade, marking the 40th edition of the Creole Festival. Groups from across Seychelles, joined by regional participants from islands such as Réunion, dazzled the crowds with vibrant costumes, rhythmic dances, and lively performances celebrating the heart of Creole culture.

This year’s parade embraced a variety of themes, from traditional weddings and iconic Seychellois figures to reflections on the history of slavery and environmental conservation. Each float and performance offered a vivid glimpse into the islands’ cultural richness and diversity.
Adding to the spectacle was a float featuring the newly crowned Miss Regatta Kreolite 2025, Gaëlle Morel, accompanied by her runners-up and representatives from Round Table Seychelles. The group greeted spectators with bright smiles and warm waves as they made their way through Victoria’s festive streets.

Spectators applauded the creativity and enthusiasm on display, describing the parade as a true celebration of Seychelles’ unity in diversity. As one of the most anticipated highlights of this year’s Creole Festival, the Creole Carnival Parade once again showcased the vibrant heritage, pride, and spirit that define the Seychellois Creole identity.
