Seychelles Police Complete French-Supported Training on Document Fraud

The Seychelles Police Force has concluded a four-day specialised training programme on document fraud. The training was organised with the support of the French Republic and the French Embassy in Seychelles.

The programme ended on Thursday with a closing ceremony attended by senior police officials and representatives of the French authorities.

Commissioner of Police Ted Barbé said the training had strengthened the operational capacity of officers drawn from different police units. He thanked the two French instructors for their contribution and expressed appreciation to the French Embassy for its continued support. He added that the partnership remains important in enhancing the capabilities of the Seychelles Police Force.

Representing the French Republic, Principal Commissioner Timothée Sevaistre welcomed the cooperation between France and Seychelles. He said the workshop demonstrated a shared commitment to addressing transnational crime and protecting the integrity of official documents.

The training was delivered by two instructors from Réunion, Chief Brigadier Muriel Lebon and Peacekeeper Kévin Lamoly. They are both attached to the Territorial Service of Border Police, DTPN 974. Speaking at the ceremony, Chief Brigadier Lebon congratulated participants for their engagement throughout the programme.

The event concluded with the presentation of certificates to officers who completed the training.

The training was held from 9 to 12 December 2025. It forms part of ongoing cooperation between the French Embassy, the Government of France and the Seychelles Police Force. The training aimed at strengthening skills and collaboration in law enforcement.
