Seychelles Records Double-Digit Growth in November Visitor Arrivals

Seychelles welcomed 36,894 visitors in November 2025, marking a 15% increase compared with November last year, according to the latest statistical bulletin released by the National Bureau of Statistics on 5 December 2025.

Most visitors travelled to Seychelles for leisure, with holidays accounting for 87.4% of all arrivals. The average length of stay was 9.6 nights, reflecting continued interest in longer visits. Tourists made up 83.1% of total arrivals, while residents accounted for 15.1% and seamen for 1.8%.

Europe remained Seychelles’ main source market, contributing 75.2% of visitors, followed by Asia at 14.7%. Germany led by country of residence with 16.6% of arrivals. Russia accounted for 11.0%, France 9.9%, and the United Kingdom 5.7%. The United Arab Emirates and Italy each represented 5.2% of visitors.

Nearly all visitors, 98.2%, arrived on commercial flights, while 0.9% travelled by private plane.Mahé continued to host the majority of visitors, with 64.6% staying on the main island. Praslin attracted 17.1%, while 4.1% stayed on La Digue. Hotels remained the preferred accommodation choice, used by 79.2% of visitors. Smaller shares stayed with friends, at 2.1%, or on yachts, at 2.4%.

First-time visitors accounted for 88.7% of arrivals, totalling 32,710 people. Repeat visitors made up 11.3%, or 4,184 visitors. Among repeat visitors from Africa, South Africa recorded the highest share at 48.2%. Within Asia, the United Arab Emirates had the highest proportion at 55.3%.

The bulletin shows that most repeat visitors returned for holidays, accounting for 84.0%, while 8.0% visited friends and 4.2% travelled for business.

The National Bureau of Statistics said the next bulletin, covering visitor arrivals for December 2025, will be published on 9 January 2026.
