Seychelles Defence Forces Elevate Three Officers to Second Lieutenant

Three military officers have been promoted to the rank of Second Lieutenant within the Seychelles Defence Forces (SDF). The promotions were formalised during a ceremony at State House on Monday, 24 November 2025.

President Dr Patrick Herminie, in his capacity as Commander-in-Chief of the SDF, presented the new shoulder boards and certificates alongside the Chief of Defence Forces, Major General Micheal Rosette.

The officers promoted were Chakira Rose, Dominique Andimignon and Kenneth Evenor. Second Lieutenant Rose and Second Lieutenant Andimignon are both based at SDF Headquarters at Bel Eau.

Speaking to the media, Rose and Andimignon expressed gratitude for the recognition. They noted that their careers in the military have been challenging but rewarding. Both officers have completed extensive local and international training, including a one-year officer cadet course in India, and said they aim to further develop in their military careers.

Second Lieutenant Evenor is currently attached to the Presidential Security Unit. State House confirmed that he has considerable military experience both locally and internationally.

President Herminie congratulated the newly commissioned officers and wished them success in their future duties and personal goals.

The ceremony was attended by senior military officials, including Brigadier Jean Atala, Chief of Staff Colonel Micheal Holland, Lieutenant Achille Mondon and Captain Steve Asba.
