Professional Seychellois volleyballer secures another year with Nice in France

Rodney Ah-Kong Nice contract extension sees the Seychellois volleyballer continue with the French club

Professional Seychellois volleyball player Rodney Ah-Kong has secured a one-year contract extension with French club Nice Volley-Ball.

The team competes in France’s top division, known as Ligue A.

Ah-Kong has played for Nice for about 13 years. In total, he has spent nearly two decades as a professional volleyball player in France.

During his time in the French league, he has received multiple Most Valuable Player (MVP) awards in league matches.

In the last Coupe de France, Ah-Kong contributed to Nice finishing as runners-up.

“I have signed a one-year contract, and my objective remains the same as last year. That is to help the team improve on last season, when we finished eighth in the league. My role is to continue supporting the young players, to advise them, and, as the longest-serving player at Nice, to motivate them to perform better. I am no longer playing as I did before, but I am here to support the younger players. I aim to be a role model both on and off the court.” said Ah-Kong

Ah-Kong is currently in Seychelles for the holidays. He is expected to return to France in August 2026.
