Sabry Khan takes oath as head of Seychelles Intelligence Services

President Patrick Herminie has sworn in Sabry Khan as Director General of the Seychelles Intelligence Services.

The ceremony took place at State House, where Mr Khan took the oath of allegiance and signed the instrument of appointment. The event marked the start of his tenure.

Mr Khan brings experience in aviation security, law enforcement and intelligence. He has more than two decades of experience in the aviation sector. Before his appointment, he served as Head of Aviation Security at Seychelles International Airport.

In that role, he oversaw security operations and the implementation of national and international security frameworks. His work included inter-agency coordination, regulatory compliance, security risk management and crisis response. It also involved the use of new screening technologies.

The Seychelles Intelligence Services is responsible for protecting national security interests. Its mandate includes gathering, analysing and sharing intelligence to support decision-making at senior government level. The service works with local security bodies and international partners to address emerging threats and support public safety, within the law.

Congratulating Mr Khan, President Herminie said he was confident the service would continue to adapt to a changing security environment under his leadership. He added that this would help ensure the country remains secure and stable.
