President appoints new boards for Seychelles Trading Company and Pension Fund

The Office of the President has announced the appointment of two statutory boards, with both taking effect from 15 December 2025.

In a statement issued on Tuesday afternoon, President Patrick Herminie appointed Mrs Lekha Nair as chairperson of the Seychelles Trading Company, with Mr Abdul Gafoor Yakub named as vice-chairperson. The other board members are Ms Astride Tamatave, Mr Ricky Barbé, Ms Margaret Moumou, Mrs Estelle Alexis and Mr Daniel Hoareau.

The appointments to the Seychelles Trading Company board are for a three-year term. The President expressed his appreciation to the outgoing members for their service and contribution during their time on the board.

The Office of the President also announced the appointment of a new board of trustees for the Seychelles Pension Fund. Mr Norman Weber has been appointed as chairperson, while Mr Marc Houareau will serve as vice-chairperson.

The other trustees are Mr Dick Labonté, Ms Odile Vidot, Mrs Elsie Morel, Mr Rupert Simeon, Ms Alexandra Benoiton, Mr Tyrian Gendron, Mr Keith Arnephy and Mrs Vanessa Mussard.

The trustees have been appointed for a three-year period, also effective from 15 December 2025. The President again expressed his appreciation to the outgoing members for their contribution and service during their term on the board.
