President Herminie Visits Seychelles Embassy in Abu Dhabi as UAE Trip Concludes

President Patrick Herminie has visited the Seychelles Embassy in Abu Dhabi as the final engagement of his official trip to the United Arab Emirates. He was accompanied by First Lady Veronique Herminie and members of his delegation. Ambassador Gervais Moumou, his spouse Pamela Payet, and Embassy staff received the delegation.

During a short presentation, Ambassador Moumou outlined the Embassy’s mandate, which includes representing and promoting Seychelles’ interests in the UAE and in 19 countries under its jurisdiction. He also highlighted the Mission’s role within the International Renewable Energy Agency, where he serves as Seychelles’ Permanent Representative.

The President received a briefing on the Embassy’s work as one of three overseas passport enrolment stations. The other stations operate at the Seychelles Missions in London and Paris. This service aims to provide consular support to Seychellois nationals living abroad.

Ambassador Moumou gave an update on the Mission’s engagement with the Seychellois community in the region. He outlined ongoing work on welfare and consular matters and the Embassy’s follow-up with the 16 Seychellois students currently based in the UAE.

President Herminie expressed his appreciation for the Mission’s work in supporting bilateral and multilateral relations and in safeguarding the interests of Seychellois citizens, including those who may encounter difficulties while travelling or living in the region.

The President, the First Lady and the delegation later toured the Embassy to view its operating environment and learn more about ongoing initiatives in the UAE and neighbouring countries.

The Seychelles Embassy in Abu Dhabi is located at Villa No. 15, Murror Area, 23rd Street.
