Absa Seychelles Gives Back to the Elderly at Anse Royale

The elderly home at Anse Royale has a fresh new look after volunteers from Absa Bank Seychelles spent their Saturday, 22 November, giving their time to support the residents ahead of the festive season.

As part of the bank’s Force for Good initiative, staff from two departments rolled up their sleeves to clean, paint and decorate the home, helping create a brighter and more welcoming environment for the elderly residents as Christmas approaches.

The team also donated fresh fruits and vegetables to the home. Absa Seychelles’ Head of Marketing and Corporate Affairs, Marie Paule Samson, said the bank regularly engages in community projects throughout the year, adding that staff are always encouraged to take part and give back.

Representing the Home and the Ministry of Social Affairs, Family and Equality, Ms. Lindy Roccou expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Absa team. She also called on other organisations and businesses to step forward and support the elderly in any way they can.The day ended on a joyful note, with smiles shared between the residents and the Absa volunteers.

The Anse Royale Elderly Home currently accommodates 11 residents, including its oldest resident who is 99 years old.The home will mark its 37th anniversary in December 2025, and Ms. Roccou says a special celebration is planned to coincide with the Christmas and New Year festivities.
