The Judiciary of Seychelles has introduced a new digital system, the Judiciary e-Service Platform, aimed at improving efficiency across the country’s court system. The platform was officially launched on Wednesday, 26 November 2025, at a ceremony attended by the President of the Court of Appeal, Anthony Fernando, Chief Justice Rony Govinden, justices of appeal, judges of the Supreme Court, magistrates, the registrar, representatives of the Attorney General’s office, state counsels and members of the bar. The digital platform was developed by a local company, SWITCH.
Chief Justice Rony Govinden said the launch marks an important stage in the development of the Seychelles legal system. He said the initiative demonstrates the judiciary’s commitment to modernising court processes and strengthening access to justice.

The new platform will allow the electronic submission of written documents in civil and criminal cases before the Supreme Court and Magistrates’ Court, with the Court of Appeal expected to join at a later date. Chief Justice Govinden described the system as a step towards a more consistent and efficient legal process.
“By doing so we are embracing technology in a way that reduces our reliance on physical documents and ensures that filing deadlines are met with ease,” he said.
He noted that the platform will offer flexibility for legal practitioners who will be able to submit documents from any location, improve accessibility and standardise document formats across the courts. He added that the system is secure and that all uploaded information will be handled confidentially to protect the integrity of court records.
The Chief Justice said the platform represents the first phase of a broader effort to fully digitalise the Seychelles judiciary.
