
The Chief Executive Officer of the Islands Development Company (IDC), Cyril Bonnelame, has confirmed his departure in a farewell message to staff and stakeholders.
In the message, Cyril Bonnelame IDC Seychelles CEO departure was confirmed as he said he would leave in the coming days to pursue new opportunities.
“After much reflection, I would like to share with you that I will be departing from IDC in the coming days to pursue new opportunities that have been offered to me,” he said.
He added that the decision followed careful consideration and guidance from his superiors.
He reflected on his time at IDC, focusing on team relationships and shared experiences. He said his experience extended beyond professional development.
“What has truly made my time at IDC special is not just the professional growth, but the relationships, the shared moments, the challenges we faced together, and the unwavering support I received,” he said.
He also described IDC as a place where he developed professionally and personally.
“IDC has been more than just a workplace to me—it has been a space where I have learned, grown, and felt supported,” he said.
He pointed to key milestones during his tenure. These included efforts to ensure the organisation was not burdened with excessive financial exposure, the addition of Le Revenant to the fleet after delays, and what he described as strong financial performance in the current financial year.
He thanked colleagues for their contribution and support during his time at the organisation.
“I am sincerely grateful to each of you—for your kindness, your collaboration, your patience, and your belief in me,” he said.
He also acknowledged the organisation’s role in the national economy and expressed hope for its continued contribution.
“I also express my sincere wish for the continued success of IDC in its pivotal role and its vital contribution to the Seychelles economy,” he said.
He concluded by thanking staff and said professional connections would continue beyond his departure.
